Self-described as "the kitchen sink with guitars," the Key Party is Darren Gaines, former singer of New York City punk band the Great Shakes. Gaines decided to pursue the project after the Great Shakes went on hiatus, opting for a folk-punk style with vocals bringing to mind a cross between the Cramps and Tom Waits. With plenty of musical and vocal contributions, Hit or Miss emerged in 2006.
