Biography
Singer/songwriter Christene LaDoux earned a respectable reputation throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, where she extensively performed her solo acoustic songs at cafes and other venues. LaDoux had written since her childhood, mainly stories and poetry, and began singing at age 20. Her primary influence at the time was Patsy Cline as well as other similar female singer/songwriters like Joni Mitchell and Carole King; Mary Timmins of the Cowboy Junkies also provided much inspiration for LaDoux. In the late '90s she began to take her singing and songwriting more seriously after winning a singing contest with her rendition of Cline's "Crazy." More contests followed, and soon LaDoux began traveling far and wide for a chance to perform her music. She performed at ~the Tucson Folk Festival annually beginning in 2000, and also traveled as far as Texas for the ~South By Southwest festival and Pennsylvania for ~JoniFest.
