Roots-pop duo Kennedy Rose teamed Nashville-based singers/songwriters Mary Ann Kennedy and Pam Rose, who first joined forces in 1981 in the group Calamity Jane. Already sought-after session vocalists, the twosome also earned renown for their songwriting skills before returning to performing as Kennedy Rose; signing to the IRS label, they issued Hai Ku in 1989, followed five years later by Walk the Line.
